Nurse

I just hit my decade of being a nurse. Wow, I cannot believe it. I still feel like a baby nurse with so much to learn. This feeling is exactly why I love nursing so much. I feel that there is always something new to learn and explore.

I have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). I recently obtained my Master of Science in Nursing Education (MSN). I got an MSN because I have such a passion for nursing. After being a preceptor in many different hospitals, I realized that I love teaching new nurses and nursing students.

My goal as a nurse is to shine a light for nurses. As a nurse educator, I want to help grow the next several generation of nurses to have a passion for nursing. As a bedside nurse, I want to collaborate with the hospital team and create an environment where we all thrive; nurses, respiratory therapists, occupational therapists, doctors, x-ray technicians, house keeping, patients and families.

I often tell people I want to be working in the hospital as a nurse until I am 98 years old. I want to be running around, and telling people, “back in my day…” I want to be that nurse.

I use my passion for nursing, nursing knowledge, skills as an educator, and over a decade of bedside nursing experience to shine a light for nurses.

Passion

I want my passion for nursing to show every day that I work. I want to teach and radiate this passion so that new nurses are excited to graduate and become bedside nurses.

Education

My goal as a nurse is to learn something new every day. Always learning and growing. This is not limited to medical knowledge. Learning anything every day helps encourage my growth as a person and a nurse.

Collaboration

I believe that it takes all types of people to make the world go around. The same applies in hospitas and teaching facilities. Nothing is possible without working as a team. I want to foster this collaborative environment wherever I go.
